emergency and additional support

When immediate support is needed for you or someone else, it's important to know where to turn.

 

While my counselling services may be unavailable outside of hours, you always deserve support. Below are UK-based emergency contacts with brief descriptions to guide you:

emergency contacts:

- 999: For immediate, life-threatening emergencies requiring urgent assistance from ambulance, police, or fire services.


- 111 (Option 2): For urgent mental health support, you can dial 111 and select the mental health option to connect with trained professionals who can provide immediate assistance and guidance.

other support:

- Samaritans: Offers a 24/7 confidential listening service for anyone in distress or considering suicide. Call 116 123 anytime.


- SHOUT: A free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone struggling to cope. Text "SHOUT" to 85258 to connect with a trained volunteer.


- National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK: Provides supportive listening for individuals with thoughts of suicide. Call 0800 689 5652 from 6pm to midnight daily.


- Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM): Targets those feeling down or in crisis, offering support to prevent suicide. Call 0800 58 58 58 from 5pm to midnight daily, or use their webchat service.


- Papyrus HOPELINEUK: Supports young people up to age 35 experiencing thoughts of suicide, and those concerned about them. Call 0800 068 4141, text "07860 039967" or email pat@papyrus-uk.org from 9am to midnight daily.


- SANEline: Offers emotional support and information to anyone affected by mental health problems. Check their website for current operating hours.


- LGBTQIA+ Switchboard: For anyone, anywhere in the country at any point of their journey. Can discuss anything related to sexuality and gender identity. Whether its sexual health, relationships or just the way you are feeling. Call 0800 0119 100 from 10:00 – 22:00 Everyday

additional support:

- Hub of Hope: A comprehensive national database of mental health support services, allowing you to find local and national resources. Visit their website at hubofhope.co.uk to access support near you.
